Listen and Learn Irish
I’ve put together a set of short videos over on my YouTube channel to help you use Irish in your day-to-day life. These aren’t grammar lessons or drills — they’re real phrases I actually use at home, with my son, while going about our daily routine.
Whether it’s getting dressed in the morning, sorting the dinner, or winding down at night, you can pop the videos on and listen and learn without sitting down to “study.”
What’s in the videos?
Each video includes useful phrases in both Irish and English, covering:
- Morning routines
- Mealtime
- Bathroom time
- Bedtime
They’re made for beginners — or anyone trying to weave a bit more Gaeilge into the day.

To go along with the videos, I’ve made a PDF you can download with all the Irish and English phrases from each routine. Perfect to print off or pop into a flashcard app like Anki. It’s great for reviewing on your phone or laptop.
Why I made these videos
When I started learning Irish, I struggled to actually use it in everyday life. The books were great for vocab, but not for talking to my child during bath time or getting him ready for bed.
That’s why I made these — to help other families and learners hear the phrases spoken naturally, and start using them right away. It’s all stuff I say myself at home.
